If a teacher is PhD in Science (Martial Art) with Biology (Kung fu). he can be expert to teach in their subject, with in which he spend time for long time. He can not be expert to teach Chemistry (Karate), if he claim along with his expert subject.
Martial Art is a tree and Japanese Karate, Kung-fu, Kick Boxing ,Tae-Kwando, Fensing, Judo, Sikh Martial Art (Gatka) and other art of Fighting are truck of this tree.
Every art have their own traditions and Techniques to compete in particular tournaments on District to International levels.
If a person can work in single art then he can be expert in their art after many years practice like 20 to 30 years.
Tae-Kwando Student can not participate in Karate Tournament or in other Art tournament same apply on others.
You should must check their Training and organisation status for the betterment of both art and students.
Thanking you
